Reading, reading and more reading.....

As you probably figured, we have been doing a lot of reading (I mean a lot of reading) to prepare for this move; some for research, some just for fun. Besides all the web sites (blogs, forums, newspapers, etc.), there have been several books that we have enjoyed. I thought I would list the top four:

Desiring Paradise by Karin W. Schlesinger
Don't Stop the Carnival by Herman Wouk
Chasing the Horizon by Cap'n Fatty Goodlander
Seadogs, Clowns and Gypsies by Cap'n Fatty Goodlander

If you have suggestions for similar reading, leave us a comment.

Enjoy!
Deb

Read "A Trip to the Beach" by Melinda and Robert Blanchard. It's their book about opening the famed "Blanchard's" restaurant on Anguilla. They ditched their New England lifesyles for this dream. I highly recommend.

After reading "Desiring Paradise" I've been afraid of making a packing list!

How many container loads are you sending down?

Cheers, RickG

We're taking four suitcases and maybe mailing a couple boxes. We rented the house furnished, put some stuff in the attic and the rest we gave away!

Dear Deb and Jay,
I wrote an intriguing novel about the Virgin Islands. It's actually a spy thriller about the transfer of the Danish West Indies to the U.S. entitled, "Transfer Day". It would be very appropriate for your blog because the book gives the reader a very well-researched, accurate portrayal of what life was like during Danish times: the local characters, the culture, the upheavals, the political environment, the social environment. So far it's been greating great reviews on Amazon and I think your readers would love to immerse themselves in St. Thomas life as it was back in 1916. I would love for you to review "Transfer Day". You can reach me at bodner.rachel@gmail.com.
The book is available at:

Truly, "Transfer Day" is the first and only book of its kind to portray the transfer of the islands with action, adventure, espionage, intrigue and romance. A must for all lovers of the Virgin Islands!
Happy Reading,
